When It Rains....

On the Socks For Soldiers front, I finally sent Kim my first shipment of the year: three pr regulation socks, 1 pr leisure socks, and three beanies. And I have three more pr reg socks finished that just need laundering. They should be going around the first week in July along with a couple of beanies I hope to make by then.

Speaking of which, I swatched the leftover Regia Stretch (double strands) today (I really hate swatching!!), frogged the swatch (waste not yada...yada...) and started the first regulation beanie (black). And yesterday I sorted through the CHP leisure yarns Kim sent me to pick out colors for leisure socks and beanies. I've pretty much decided which I'll use for beanies and which for socks, which for men and which for women, so should get started on them in a week or so. I really do need to get cracking on them; I've had the yarn waaayyy too long--like a year (I know, I know...please don't scold!)

For my own stuff, I've started on the half dozen pr of socks I need to make for Mom (what can I say, she likes my socks). She needs to go into a nursing home while I'm getting the living room ceiling fixed (it fell down a couple of weeks ago) and while I'm at it the dining room and upstairs bedroom ceilings, and the attic windows, and probably the roof. Sooo, anything else I was planning on knitting, like all the UFOs I found in May, are going on the back burner while I concentrate on socks...socks...socks...oh and beanies...
